Toilet Birthdays

The toilet in the mens room at Blondies, a bar on the UES of Manhattan. It's a great place to drink and now that the powers that be are ripping up 2nd Avenue for the new subway line (and scaring away the tourists in the process), they could use your business.

I go back to Club 23 every year just to make sure it's still the most out-of-control bar in the world. In the 7 or 8 years I've been going, I have seen (in no particular order):

A guy slap a girl, a girl slap a guy, a bartender brag about having sex in the bathroom with a customer, a bartender take off her top, a guy try to sell me pot 3 times in the span of about 2 minutes (because I played a Bob Marley song on the jukebox), a bar list that included the following shots - gonorrhea, diarrhea and HIV and a man and woman have sex on the pool table.

Oh, and the toilet is from the mens room.

The toilet in the mens room at Bill's Gay 90s, a former speakeasy (with piano player) that regularly makes Esquire's "Best Bars" list. If you're in midtown Manhattan and love history and Billy Joel covers, I highly recommend it.

The toilet in the guys bathroom at the Lincoln Park Bar & Grill in Manhattan. Throughout the night "day regulars" showed up to continue their drinking day. The waitress there had also worked the day shift and seemed a little concerned that they were back.

The first stop on this year's South Street Seaport Irish Stroll was Ryan Maguire's. It was packed and we were relegated to the back room for our St. Patrick's Day carousing. This isn't actually a New Year's toilet but it was just stamped with "1952." Also, you can tell from the fact that my shoe is in the shot that this was one of the smallest stalls in the world.

This toilet is in the house of a friend I was visiting while in Vegas. He, however, didn't think it would be wise for someone of his stature to be associated with "a site like this." So, I'm posting this anonymously.

I found this toilet in the restroom at the Tasty Cafe on 72nd Street. The name is not just a clever marketing tool - their food is actually tasty. Also, a very clean bathroom with a number of quaint touches like a painting and hooks.
